Jean Malafronte, age 95, a lifelong resident of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on June 8, 2023 at Hewitt Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony E. Malafronte and celebrated their 70 th wedding anniversary together before his passing in 2019.
Jean was born on December 8, 1927, in Derby, daughter of the late Harold and Alice (Gascoigne) Rourke. She was a homemaker and also enjoyed sewing and crocheting, but she always said her biggest joy was the time she spent raising her children and taking care of her loving family.
Jean is survived by her son Anthony E. Malafronte Jr., and his wife Linda, daughters, Nina Allen and her husband David, Barbara Bamberg, and grandchildren, Nina Jean Bamberg, Anthony
Malafronte III, Mitchell Malafronte, Michael Malafronte, and her great grandchildren, Angel, Austin, and Noah. She was predeceased by her brothers, William Rourke and Harold Rourke, and her sisters, Barbara DeMarco and Dorothy Duravage.
Funeral services will be private and have been entrusted to Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton.
