Jeanne M. (Spagnola) Keefe, age 89, peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 23, 2017, at Shady Knoll Health Care in Seymour. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Keefe.
Mrs. Keefe was born in Derby on June 16, 1928, daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen Shay Spagnola. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was a graduate of Ansonia High School, Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing and New Haven State Teacher’s College. Jeanne was employed as a registered nurse and later obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Connecticut State College before assuming the role of Nursing Administrator at Griffin Hospital, until her retirement.
She leaves to cherish her memory, loving sons, William K. Keefe (Nowdla) of Fiji, Michael J. Keefe (Brenda) of Ansonia, Nicholas J. Keefe (Marcela) of Waldorf, MD and Christopher J. Keefe (Ligia) of Plantation, FL, cherished grandchildren, Justin Garrett, Shannon Keefe, Kelsey Keefe, Amanda Thomas, Kaila Keefe and Kathryn Keefe, great-grandson, Gabriel Garrett and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Shay.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday October 25, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
