Jeanne Zlotucha Chisefsky of Ansonia passed away on Wednesday, June 11 after a three-year battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. Daughter of the late Chester and Rose Reisinger Zlotucha, Jeanne was born in Blakely, Pennsylvania on May 30, 1935. She was a 1952 graduate of Throop, Pennsylvania High School.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, John J. Chisefsky, after 44 years of marriage, and her brother, Gerald N. Zlotuca. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Tamara A. Chisefsky of Ansonia, Cheryl C. Murillo and her husband Gus of Ansonia, and her niece Lori Andrews and her husband David of Frederick, Maryland. She also leaves her adoring grandchildren, Amanda Murillo Czajkowski and her husband Joseph and Jeffrey Murillo of Ansonia. Her beloved great-grandchildren Victoria, Joseph, and Thomas Czajkowski will miss her deeply. Her four great-nieces Kristen, Lauren, Jaime and Katie Andrews held a special place in her heart. Jeanne’s very special friend, Robert Ellis and his children of Shelton, were a highlight of her life. Many cousins and friends will miss Jeanne’s love for life.
Jeanne came to Connecticut in the summer of 1952 for a long weekend and remained here for the next 62 years. She was very involved in the PTA when her daughters were young and was always interested in the activities of the younger generations. Jeanne was an active member and past treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 16 in Shelton, and a member of Assumption Church for over 55 years.
The family will receive friends at the John T. Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N. Cliff St., Ansonia, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. On Saturday her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9 a.m. to the Church of the Assumption for her mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Throop, Pennsylvania at the convenience of the family.
