Jeannette Aragi Szobocsan

Jeannette Aragi Szobocsan, 86, of Seymour, peacefully entered into the arms of the Lord on December 12, 2014, at Hewitt Health & Rehab in Shelton. She was predeceased by husbands, Thomas Aragi and Stephen Szobocsan.

Mrs. Szobocsan was born in St. Luc, Quebec, Canada on February 14, 1928, daughter of the late Ephrem and Irene Brassard Hebert. A resident of Seymour for forty years, she worked at numerous jobs throughout her life. Jeannette was a devoted communicant of St. Anthony Church in Ansonia and was known for her cooking and sewing skills. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by two sons, Louis Aragi of Sheffield, MA and Peter Aragi Sr. (Terry) of Ansonia, a daughter, Janet Aragi Tomasheski (Leon) of Beacon Falls, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and canine friend, Pitou. In addition to both husbands, she was predeceased by a son, Ephrem Aragi and his wife Margaret Peggy” Aragi and a daughter, Mary Margaret Fette and her husband Arthur C. Fette.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday December 15, 2014, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday, her funeral will be held at 8:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at St. Anthony Church in Ansonia. Interment will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seymour Ambulance Assoc. through the funeral home.
