Jeannette Metelski, 84, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on December 10, 2012, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Leon P. Metelski.
Mrs. Metelski was born in Derby on Feb. 22, 1928, daughter of the late John Tymosko and Lena Natowich Brushitis. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed as a respiratory technician at Griffin Hospital for seventeen years and later as a clerk at the Ansonia Public Library for five years, until her retirement. Jeannette enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, watching the QVC channel and visiting the casino.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Henry (Russell) of Ansonia, a brother, John Brushitis (Shirley) of Seymour, a sister, Rita Marchelletta of Southbury, granddaughters, Sherylin Trujillo (William) of York, PA and Patricia Henry of Ansonia, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her step-father, John Brushitis and a sister, Shirley Drake.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday December 14, 2012, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral at 10:00 am, in the funeral home, with Rev. Mitchell Wanat, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Derby.
