Jeffrey J. Foster, 52, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2011, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Christina Fischer Foster.
Jeff was born in Bennington, VT on January 22, 1959, son of Alfred Foster of Terryville, CT and the late Patricia Dellia Foster. A resident of Ansonia since 1984, he was employed as a tow motor operator at American Plastics in Waterbury until his illness. Jeff was a member of Charter Hose Co. #4 in Ansonia and served as Captain of the Ansonia Fire Police. He served his country in the U.S Army from 1978 until 1984 and was a member of the St. Sebastian Men’s Club in Ansonia and the American Legion in Derby.
In addition to his wife Christina, he is survived by a brother, Alan J. Foster of Terryville, three sisters, Lynn Rodorigo (Jonathan) of Beacon Falls, Faye Leonetti (William) of Terryville, and Jennifer Ogle (Keith) of Derby, mother in law, Raphiel Mitchell and her husband George Mitchell of Ansonia, father in law, James Fischer of Streamwood, IL, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, fellow firefighters’ and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday November 7, 2011, at 9:30 am (Please meet directly) at the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff Street in Ansonia, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Following Mass, U.S. Army military honors will be accorded. Per Jeff’s wishes, his burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held on SUNDAY from 2 – 5 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
