Jenne Rose Asarisi, 90, of Seymour, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 13, 2011, at the Griffin Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, following a short illness. She was the beloved wife for 59 years to the late William S. Asarisi.
Mrs. Asarisi was born in Derby on July 14, 1920, daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Biondi Maresca. She resided in Derby, Seymour, and Bethany before moving back to Seymour in 2005. She was educated in the Derby schools and worked for 25 years as a switchboard operator at Wire Novelty/Chappel Industries in Shelton and 11 years as a bookkeeper at Ideal/Kirsch in Beacon Falls before retiring. Jenne was a volunteer in the lunchroom at the Amity Junior High School and was a member of both, Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia and St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia. At Holy Rosary, she was a member of it’s Rosary Guild and enjoyed, along with her husband, working at the annual Italian Festival.
She is survived by a son, Richard J. Asarisi and his wife Martha Lee of Bethany, granddaughters, Jennifer Lemke and her husband Richard of Naugatuck, Janice Lopez and her husband Jose of Stratford, Julie LeVasseur and her husband Les of Naugatuck, and Natalie Asarisi of Bethany, great-grandchildren, Daniel and Selina Lopez and Sandra LeVasseur, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Athanasiou, a granddaughter, Christina Asarisi and a brother Vincent Maresca.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday February 17, 2011, at 9:45am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 32 Jewett Street in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 6 – 8 pm.
