Jerome Ham Jr.

Jerome Ham Jr. 57, husband of Connie Mumford Ham, of Naugatuck, died on Wednesday July 15 at the Bridgeport Hospital following a two month battle with injuries he suffered while at work.

He had lived in Ansonia and Derby for several years, and worked in Seymour.

Mr. Ham was born in Marion, S.C. on April 11, 1952, son of the late Jerome and Bernatha Lee Ham Sr. 

He was a resident of Ansonia and Derby for several years before moving to Naugatuck two years ago. Jerome was employed at the Slickbar Products Corporation in Seymour since 1999 and enjoyed his family, playing horseshoes, cards, basketball and playing pool.

He was also an outstanding and devoted member of the Living Springs Christian Fellowship Church in Seymour for eight years.

Besides his wife Connie, Ham is survived by two sons, Joseph Sanders of Derby and Hewitt Sanders of Ansonia; three daughters, Bernatha Sanders of Naugatuck, Connie Rains of South Carolina, and Barbara Sanders of Naugatuck; four brothers, Rudolph Franklin, Charles Ham, Douglas Ham, and William Ham, all of South Carolina; two sisters, Carolyn Green of Georgia, and Delois Charles of Derby. 

Mr. Ham also had 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Patsy Sanders and a sister Frankcena Jackson.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, July 20 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Living Springs Christian Fellowship Church at 141 Great Hill Road in Seymour.

On July 21, funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Living Springs Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Robert Hoyt officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. The Spinelli-Ricciuti Funeral Home in Ansonia made the arrangements.
