Jerry J. Turecek

Jerry J. Turecek, age 86, of Shelton entered into rest on Thursday, November 17, 2106 in Gardner Heights Convalescent Center. He is the devoted husband of Greta (Dziadik) Turecek.

Mr. Turecek was born in Shelton on February 2, 1930 son of the late Joseph and Valeria (Elias)
Turecek and was a Shelton resident for all of his life. 

He served his country during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954 while stationed in Germany. Jerry was a member of the American Legion Sutter-Terlizzi Post 16 and was an avid skier, hiker, and a lover of the outdoors. 

Jerry retired as a Chief Engineer after 45 years at the Hershey Metal Products, Ansonia, CT

He is the beloved father of Katherine Turecek Gerwien and her fiancee Steve Guardiani, Christine Turecek, and Patricia Turecek and her husband Scott Rourke. He is the brother of Charles Turecek and his wife Barbara, the loving grandfather of Spencer Gerwien, and Maxwell Turecek Bartlett, and also leaves many nieces and nephews. Jerry is predeceased by four brothers, Frank, Emil, Joseph and Edward Turecek and a sister Mary Pelham. 

Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. On Monday, his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church. His burial will follow at St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery.
