Joanne Fratago Fairhurst, age 75, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 2, 2013at Shelton Lakes Healthcare Center.
She was born in New York City, NY, on December 28, 1937, the beloved daughter of the late John Fratago and Annette Suppy Fratago.
Joanne was a communicant of St. John Byzantine Church, Trumbull. She was formerly employed as a secretary for Junior Achievement of Bridgeport and a Nurse’s Aide at Hewitt Memorial of Shelton. Joanne was an avid homemaker , loved her dog “Patches” and playing with her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all and forever in our hearts.
Her loving family includes a caring son Mark Fairhurst Sr. and his wife Eileen of Satellite Beach, FL., two loving daughters Elizabeth Bowen and her husband Edward of Derby, and Kristina Benson and her husband Robert of Seymour, a devoted sister Dorothy Jess and her husband Everett of San Diego,CA., six cherished grandchildren Connor and Collin Benson, Kristina Bowen, Mark Fairhurst Jr., Joey Fairhurst and Michael Fairhurst and seven cherished great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Gathering of friends and family will be held in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Rt 67, across from Klarides Village), Seymour , on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
