JoAnne (Persico) Carlino, age 82, entered eternal rest on October 19, 2023, at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicolo Carlino.
JoAnne was born in Derby on May 9, 1941 daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary Violante Persico. A resident of Seymour for fifty-six years, JoAnne was employed as a Phlebotomist at Griffin Hospital. She also worked alongside her late husband Nicolo at the family business, the former Carlino’s Men Shop in Derby. Together, they proudly served the Valley since 1967. JoAnne enjoyed frequent trips to Italy to visit family and cruises to Alaska and Hawaii. She also loved visiting all the US National Parks. She will sadly be missed by all but will remain in our hearts forever.
JoAnne leaves to cherish her memory, her loving son, Joseph Carlino (Michele) of Orange, brothers, Frank Persico (Maryann) of Ansonia, Salvatore Persico (Linda) of Orange and Ronald Persico (Shelly) of Naples FL, sister, Marilyn Davila (Felix) of Naugatuck, grandchildren, Nicole Anne Carlino, Joseph L. Carlino, Brooklyn Anne Carlino all of Orange, Angelina Anne Carlino of Ardmore, PA, and Peter J. Carlino of Orange, great-granddaughter, Josie Elizabeth Teodosio along with several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to caregiver Marilyn Fitol, for her loving care of JoAnne.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday morning, her funeral will begin at 10:15 from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.
