Jody R. Willis

Jody R. Willis, 60, of Seymour, peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2014, at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved and devoted wife for 40 years to Edward Willis.

Jody was born in Derby on December 19, 1953, daughter of the late Peter and Helen Zelem Musante. A resident of Seymour since 1974, she was employed as a para-professional for the Seymour Board of Education for 23 years until her retirement. Jody was happiest when vacationing with her husband on a cruise ship or a Caribbean beach.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a loving son, Timothy Willis (Erin Lawler) of Seymour, dear friend, Roseann Thornton of Naugatuck and several cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Christopher J. Willis.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday July 2, 2014, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Mountain Meadows Cemetery in Seymour.

It was Jody’s request that any woman attending her wake to please celebrate her life by wearing red shoes or high heels.

Ed and Tim send a heart-felt thank you to the nurses and staff of St. Raphael’s Hospital Verdi 3 West for their compassionate care.
