John A. Boath, age 76, of Ansonia, entered into rest on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at CT Hospice. He was the devoted husband of Margaret Munson Boath for 53 years.
John was born in Derby on May 14, 1937, son of the late George and Janet Boath and was a lifelong Ansonia resident.
He was a buyer for Farrel Corp for 43 years until his retirement. He was an accomplished musician who played trombone with big bands, including the John Alexander Orchestra, throughout the New Haven area.
He is the beloved father of a son, John Boath and his wife Roberta, and a daughter, Janine Boath, loving grandfather of Ian and Kelsi, and brother of George Boath and his wife Evelyn.
His memorial service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013, at 1 p.m. in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, 219 New Haven Ave., Derby. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton, are entrusted with the arrangements.
