John A. Carbone, 75

John A. Carbone, 75, of Las Vegas, formerly of Derby and West Haven, entered into eternal rest on June 21, 2011 in Las Vegas. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Nicholas Carbone.

Mr. Carbone was born in New Haven on June 19, 1936, son of the late James and Antoinette DeTulio Carbone. After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1957, he was employed at the former Armstrong Rubber in West Haven. During this time, he was an active member of the United Rubber Workers Union and represented the URW annually in Washington, DC. Later, he was employed as a lead man at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. There, he again became active with the Union, and served as a Teamsters Union Steward. In addition, he was a courier for MCS in Shelton until his retirement. John was also a baseball coach, an avid bowler and former softball player, and was active in local politics. He enjoyed life, was a great dad”, and lived each day to its fullest.

He is survived by 2 sons, Walter Pytlak Jr. (Sandi) of Ansonia and Brian Pytlak (Norma) of Derby, 3 daughters, Isabel Czajkowski-Fusaris (Robert Fusaris) of Milford, Elizabeth Lizzy” Genovese (Richard) of Derby, and Johnna Manna of Branford, grandchildren, Lisa Castle (Ralph), Christopher Pytlak, Jeffrey Pytlak (Jen), Darryl Pytlak (Tori), Melissa Pytlak, Dominic Manna, Angelo Manna, Kelly Genovese and Ethan Fusaris, great-grandsons, Justin Castle, Gavin Pytlak, and Matthew Imperati, sister in law, Jean Carbone, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Carbone.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday July 1, 2011, at 8:45 am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at St. Michael’s Church, 25 Maple Avenue in Beacon Falls. Interment with U.S. Army military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 – 7 pm.
