John A. “Stretch” Koslowski

John A. Stretch” Koslowski, 74, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday Dec. 13 at the CT Hospice in Branford. 

John was born in Ansonia on April 26, 1935 son of the late Chester and Helen Nizgorski Koslowski.

A resident of Ansonia for most of his life, he was employed at the Farrel Corporation in Ansonia for many years until his retirement in 1997.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict. 

John was a member of the Polish Falcons and St. Sebastian Men’s Club in Ansonia and the Catholic War Veterans in Derby. 

He is survived by three sons, Stephen, Gerald, and Alan Koslowski, three daughters, Karen Koslowski, Judith Girous, and Caroline Ingerson all of Vermont, a brother Robert A. Koslowski of Ansonia, two sisters, Eleanor E. Kurdy and Mary Ann Simon of Ansonia, nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service and celebration of John’s life on Thursday Dec. 17 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia with the Rev. Mitchell Wanat, Pastor of the St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia officiating. 

Visiting hours will also be held on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the service begins. 

Private inurnment will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Derby.
