John E. Saroka

John E. Saroka, 70, of Oxford, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2013, at CT Hospice in Branford. He is the beloved husband of Tina Picagli Saroka.

Mr. Saroka was born in Derby on August 2, 1942, son of the late John S. and Phyllis Baclawski Saroka. A resident of Oxford for thirty years, he was employed as the service manager at the former Cherney Pontiac in Ansonia until his retirement. John honorably served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the David S. Miles American Legion Post 174 in Oxford.

In addition to his wife Tina, he is survived by a daughter, Marshann Saroka-Cherney and her husband Robert of Oxford, two sons, Brian Herpin and Shane Herpin of Oxford, a brother, Edward Saroka of Seymour, cherished grandson, Samuel J. Cherney of Oxford and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Per John’s request, his funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
