John F. Guerra, 39, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on March 30, 2015, in his home.
John was born in Derby on January 17, 1976, beloved son of Andrew Guerra of Ansonia and the late Margaret Docherty Guerra.
A lifelong resident of Ansonia, he was employed by the Town of Wilton Parks and Recreation Department for 15 years. John was a 1994 graduate of Emmett O’Brien H.S. in Ansonia where he excelled in soccer and earned All-State honors. He was an avid basketball and softball player, having participated in many leagues in the Wilton and Valley areas. John also served as the coach of the Wilton High School girls’ soccer team for many years.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a loving brother, Dino A. Guerra of Ansonia, a loving sister, Nadia Kwalek (Gregg) of Ansonia, two cherished nephews, Gregg and John Kwalek, girlfriend, Rebecca Berman of Ansonia and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday April 4, 2015, from 3 – 6 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, April 6, 2015, relatives and friends are invited to attend John’s funeral at 10:00 am (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY) at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
