John J. Kuca

John J. Kuca, age 88, of Shelton, entered into rest on Friday, June 14, 2013, with his family by his side, at the West Haven Veteran’s Hospital.

He is the devoted husband of Dorothy Padla Kuca.

John was born in Derby, June 7, 1925, son of the late Frank and Josephine Drozd Kuca and lived most of his life in Shelton.

He was a proud veteran of WWII serving his country as a Merchant Seaman. John was an employee at the former B. F. Goodrich in Shelton and later Branson Manufacturing until his retirement.

He enjoyed gardening, music, watching golf and took great pride in working around his home. Besides his family, John’s greatest love was reminiscing about his service during the war.

He is the beloved father of Theresa Kraemer and her fiancé Thomas Walsh, Joanne DiDonato, and Carol Semanchik and son-in-law Robert, cherished grandfather of Jessica and John DiDonato, brother of Frances Zak, Mary Jeanetti, and Sally Muratori. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Three brothers Fred, Eugene, and Frank Kuca predeceased him.

The family wishes to thank his doctors and the medical staff/visiting nurses at the West Haven VA for their heartfelt care throughout the years. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of his family.

Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton have been entrusted with the arrangements. At the request of his family, memorial contributions may be made to The West Haven Veteran’s Hospital, 950 Campbell Avenue, West Haven, CT.
