John J. Scavone Jr.

John J. Scavone Jr., age 46, entered peaceful rest on July 12, 2023.

John was born in Derby, CT on June 24, 1977, loving son of Linda Bodak Scavone and the late John J. Scavone Sr. A graduate of Ansonia High School, class of 1995, John was an honor student and played baseball where he was awarded the Golden Glove” for his talent. John then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in accounting from The University of Connecticut. He began his career in accounting then later focused on hedge fund and financial operations management. John was blessed with two beautiful boys, JJ, and Bradley whom he loved dearly. A dedicated dad, he proudly coached both of his son’s Trumbull baseball teams for many years and was affectionately known as Coach John.” He shared a passion of all thing’s sports related with his brother and best friend Brian, especially attending UCONN football games and trips to Citifield to cheer on his beloved New York Mets. He will forever be remembered by his wide circle of family and friends.

In addition to his mother Linda, John leaves to cherish his memory, sons, John J. Scavone III and Bradley L. Scavone both of Trumbull; a brother, Brian M. Scavone (Nicole) of Seymour; a sister, Debora Scavone Goldman (Andrew) of Massachusetts; niece and nephew, Liviana, and Colin Scavone, who he was a devoted uncle to; mother of his sons, Jessica Scavone; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 9:00 – 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. His funeral will then proceed to Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
