John “Jack” R. Kelleher

John Jack” R. Kelleher, age 90, a lifelong Derby resident entered into rest on Thursday November 30, 2017 in the Yale New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side. 

He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Cable) Kelleher for sixty seven and a half wonderful years. 

He was born in Derby on July 24, 1927 the son of the late John and Mary (Travis) Kelleher. John was employed as a district manager at Northeast Utilities for 42 years before his retirement. 

He was a member of Derby Board of Education, a Supernumerary for the Derby Police Department, Former President of the Derby Board of Alderman, a member of the St. Mary’s Men’s Club, a coach for Derby Biddy Basketball, and a member of both Storms Engine Co. and Hotchkiss Hose. 

He was also on the Building Committee for the Derby Court House, the Board of Directors for the Derby Neck Library, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a member of the Derby Elks, and a corporator at Griffin Hospital. 

He is survived by his son Michael and his wife Maureen, his daughter Sharon Domurad, his grandchildren Christopher Domurad, Ryan Domurad, Brenna Bridwell and her husband Derek, Kaitlyn Kelleher-Biggs and her husband Thomas, Sean Kelleher, and two great grandchildren Jackson Domurad and Dominic Bridwell. 

He was predeceased by his son Christopher Kelleher and his son-in-law Mark Domurad. 

Friends are invited to greet John’s family on Sunday December 3 from 2 to 5 PM in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street Derby. 

On Monday friends are invited to go directly to St. Mary’s Church, 212 Elizabeth Street Derby, at 10:30 AM for his Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, his family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary & St. Michael School, 14 Seymour Avenue, Derby, CT 06418.
