John M. Searles, age 75, a longtime resident of Shelton entered into eternal rest on Sunday February 27, 2022 at St. Joseph Manor in Trumbull. He was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine (Lucas) Searles. He was born in York, Maine on October 11, 1946 the son of the late Harry and Laura (Robinson) Searles.
John proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy during the VIetnam War. He retired as a foreman from Mercury Communication. He loved to watch sports, play cards, take trips to the casino, and most importantly cherished spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters Kimberly Lucido (Ronald), Michele Murphy (Mike Morales), and Jennifer Gillespie, his 6 grandchildren Christina, Ronnie, Stephanie, Sean, Sarah and Maggie, his 3 great grandchildren Gabby, Jake and Ronnie, IV, and his brothers Richard, Rodney and Brian Searles. He was predeceased by his sister Carolyn Searles.
Friends are invited to greet John’s family from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday March 3 at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Masks are required within the funeral home. On Friday his funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 1:30 PM. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.
