John P. Pierne, Jr. age 76, of Shelton entered into rest on Friday June 15, 2018 in the Ludlow Center for health and rehabilitation. He was the husband of the late Pamela (Kelley) Pierne.
John was born in Greenwich on Feb. 16, 1942 son of the late John P. and Yolanda (Fuscaldo) Pierne and was a resident of Shelton for most of his life.
John was a Pilot in the U.S. Air Force entering during the Vietnam War and continued his service with the Air National Guard for a total of 32 years before he retired from duty. He was employed for 11 years with Sikorsky Aircraft before he started Shelton Mailing Service which he owned and operated for over 20 years. John was an avid bowler who bowled a perfect 300 game in 1986. He also loved riding motorcycles and flying planes. He was an active member of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce.
He is the father of John Pierne, III and his wife Jenna, Cheryl Brennan and her boyfriend Brian Wilmot and Lisa Grosso and her husband John, proud grandfather of Ryan, Meghan, Shannon Brennan, Alyssa Pierne, and Ashley and John Grosso, brother of Carol Milano and uncle to Eric Kelley. He was predeceased by his niece Debbie Kelley.
Friends may call on Sunday June 24, 2018 from 1 to 3 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. His funeral service will follow at 3 pm in the funeral home.
