John Paul Keleman, Jr., age 65, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Griffin Hospital in Derby, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 34 years of Mary Ellen (Mulroy) Keleman. John was born in Bridgeport on May 19, 1954, son of the late John and Ethel (Suren) Keleman, and was a lifelong resident of Shelton, living on the family homestead.
He was a graduate of the Pratt Institute and was a longtime member of the American Institute of Architects.
John was immensely skilled, drawing everything by hand, and could fix anything. He was also an avid fan of the Beatles and loved attending shows and conventions with his wife. Most of all he was a beloved husband and father. He loved talking about cars with JP, watching Nascar with Joe, and listening to the Beatles with Jimmy.
He is the beloved father of John Paul Keleman, III, Joseph Steven Keleman, and his girlfriend Wendy Durnin, and James Alexander Keleman and his fiance Brittany Langer. He also leaves two sisters, Jacqueline Ardry and her husband Bernie, and Jeraldine Pendagast and her husband Thomas, his in-laws Mary Mulroy and the late Michael Mulroy, two brothers-in-law Michael Mulroy and his wife Diana and Brian Mulroy and his wife Lucille, and several nieces and nephews.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends are invited directly to St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave, Shelton, for a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Lawn Cemetery.
