John Powers Sr, age 48, of Seymour, entered into rest on Monday, October 30. 2023, in his home. John was born in Waterbury on June 6, 1975, son of the late Robert Powers Sr. and Mary (Meier) Young.
He was employed by Standard Oil for nearly 30 years where he worked as an HVAC Technician. John enjoyed working around his house and yard, watching sports, especially football and hockey, and listening to music. But most of all, John loved spending time with his children.
He is the beloved father of John Powers Jr, and Ryan Powers. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Andrea Becker, their dogs Bailey and Bella, and his siblings, Alice Powers, Robert Powers Jr. and his wife Cara, and Sarah Fisher and her husband Jay. John was also the cherished Uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday, November 9 from 4 PM — 7 PM. His funeral service will begin on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
