John R. Boran

John R. Butch” Boran, 70, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday morning, August 7, 2015, in the comfort of his home, with his loving family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of 33 years to Lori Boran.

Butch was born in New Haven on Sept. 19, 1944, son of the late John and Frances Panitz Boran. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Elementary School and Ansonia High School and previously lived in Oxford, Prospect and spent a fun year in Florida. John loved working on cars and in 1976, pursued his passion along with his brother, Bob, to form a partnership and open Boran Bros. Auto Body in Shelton. The business successfully ran for 30 years, until their retirement in 2006. He looked forward to Opening Day fishing weekend in Riverton, CT, where for over 40 years enjoyed the time with his brother and many close friends. There, he taught his step-son David, how to fish and the tradition” of Opening Day. Butch was a devoted loving husband and step-father. He was extremely close to David and his step-daughter, Jacki, attending every game, recital, graduation and taking wonderful and memorable vacations. He was known as Papa to Joshua and Lydia and spent many hours playing construction and reading books to them. He will be missed each minute of every day.

In addition to his wife Lori, he is survived by a step-son, David Nager (Sabrina) of Clinton, step-daughter, Jacqueline Nager of New York City, grandchildren, Joshua and Lydia Nager, brother, Robert Boran (Marlene) of Ansonia, nieces, Kelly Blanchard (Carl) of Milford, Kim Rihel (Tom) of Palm Harbor, FL, Godson, Jason Seely of Prospect and several other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Per Butch’s request, his funeral service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, has been privileged with the arrangements.
