John S. Kwiatkowski Sr., age 86, entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2022, in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of fifty-three years to the late Jean Stephenson Kwiatkowski.
John was born in Taylor, PA on May 4, 1935, son of the late Henry and Tekla Borek Kwiatkowski. In 1954, John graduated Valedictorian from Johnson Technical School in Scranton, PA. He was a resident of Ansonia since 1958, and was employed as a supervisor for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford for thirty-seven years, until his retirement in 1992. John was affectionately known to many as “Johnny K” or “Mr. K.” He was an active member of Holy Saviour Polish National Catholic Church in Naugatuck, CT. John enjoyed cooking his homemade specialties which included, apricot, walnut and poppy breads, kielbasa, pierogi, and stuffed cabbage. He was also an avid quilter.
John leaves to cherish his memory, sons, John S. Kwiatkowski Jr. of PA and Stanley R. Kwiatkowski (Barbara Ann) of PA, daughters, Catherine Falcha Bayers (Michael) of FL, Mary Baglin (John) of Ansonia, Joan Mikos (Martin Jr.) of SC and Diana Venice of Ansonia, brother-in-law, Thomas Stephenson (Jean) of PA, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sons-in-law, Robert Falcha and Gregory Venice, four brothers and a sister.
A funeral Mass in celebration of John’s life will take place on April 20, 2022, at 11:00 am at Saint Stanislaus Cathedral, 519 East Locust Street, Scranton, PA. A memorial Mass will also take place on April 30, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Holy Saviour Polish National Church, 118 Prospect Street, Naugatuck, CT. All are welcome to attend.
