John Thomas Barsevich of Ansonia and husband of Frances Gumbulevich Barsevich for 55 years, entered into eternal rest July 10, 2014 at Griffin Hospital.
John was born in Ansonia on September 17, 1922, son of the late Adolph and Lucy Butkus Barsevich.
As a retiree of Farrel Corporation, John worked there for 44 years and was a member of the Farrel Old Timer’s Club. He was a Communicant of St. Anthony’s Church of Ansonia and was a member of St. Anthony’s Men’s Club and the Knights of Lithuania-Council 135. John graduated from Ansonia High School, Class of 1941 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Anthony & Joseph Barsevich. In addition to his loving wife Frances, he is survived by his beloved daughter Janice Bielawa and her husband Michael of Woodbury, step grandson Justin Bielawa of Stratford, sister-in-law & brother-in-law Jack & Ruth Tyson of Ansonia and several nieces & nephews.
Friends may call on Saturday, July 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) The funeral will then leave for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church in Ansonia at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
