John W. Ogle

John W. Ogle, 67, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on October 11, 2015, at Brooksville Regional Hospital in Florida. He was the beloved husband of Linda Antinozzi Ogle.

Mr. Ogle was born in Derby on May 9, 1948, son of the late William and Romayne Armstrong Ogle. John was a lifelong resident of Derby until retiring to Spring Hill, FL two years ago. John graduated from Derby High School in 1966 and Southern Connecticut State University in 1970. He was a dedicated teacher and basketball coach in the Derby school system for 37 years. His family was the proud owners of the former Harry’s Lunch in Derby. John was an avid Notre Dame and Yankees fan and loved to play golf.

In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by a son, William Ogle and his wife Siobhan of Winter Park, FL, a daughter, Lindsey Roeschke and her husband Eli of Washington, DC, a step-son, Brett Baczek and his wife Tabatha of Oxford, CT cherished grandchildren, Annaliese and Finn Ogle, cousin, Bud Ogle of Derby and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday October 16, 2015, from 4 until 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Saturday, relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at 9:00 am (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY) at St. Mary’s Church in Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492 or Multiple Sclerosis Society, 659 Tower Avenue, Hartford, CT 06112 or through the funeral home.
