Jolene A. Preneta, age 52, of Waterbury, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday Nov. 21, 2012.
She was born in Derby on May 4, 1960, beloved daughter of Mary S. (Tautvid) Preneta and was a lifelong valley resident.
Jolene was the owner and the artistic director of The Danz Factory, a children’s dance studio, in Derby for over 25 years. She was very well respected of by her peers in the dance community and was frequently asked to judge competitive children performances in the area. She was also very generous and offered scholarship programs to underprivileged children in the area. She is also survived by her beloved brother Steven Preneta and his companion Cindy Lovejoy, a Godson John Kekac and his wife Michelle, several other nieces, an Aunt Barbara Kaczynski and her husband John, and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Anthony and Helen (Soloski) Tautvid, her paternal grandparents Joseph and Estelle (Korzenowski) Preneta and an her uncle Donald Preneta.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 pm at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. Her funeral will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
