Joseph D. Miller

Joseph D. Miller, age 79, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Griffin Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Mary (Coons) Miller.

Joseph was born on July 31, 1933 in Albany, NY son of the late Charles H. and Anna (Walsdorf) Miller and has been a Shelton resident for the past 17 years, coming from Fairfield. 

He was an engineer for Normag and formerly for Dictaphone and Philips before his retirement. Joseph was a member of St. Joseph Church and was active in many of the church’s activities. He was a 2nd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Bernardo Council #1350 in Shelton. He volunteered his time at Griffin Hospital and Spooner House. 

Besides his wife, Joseph is survived by his loving children, Kathy Pacelli(Jerry), Joan Northrup (Charles), Anne Landino(Richard), Diane Rak(David), Douglas Miller (Adrienne), his cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey, David and Christopher Pacelli, John Tufaro Jr., Jason and Kevin Landino, Brian, Kristyne and Lance Corporal Michael Rak and Morgan Miller, seven great-grandchildren, brothers, Charles, William, Henry and Donald Miller and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton, CT. On Monday, his funeral will leave the funeral home at 10 a.m. to St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.
