Joseph DeGennaro Jr., age 84, husband to the late Rose Gaetano DeGennaro and resident of Seymour, entered into eternal rest at home surrounded by his loving family, Jan. 28, 2014.
He was born June 20, 1929 in Derby, son of the late Joseph & Alice Abromaitis DeGennaro Sr.
He worked as a machinist for Farrel Corp., and was Past President of the local United Steel Workers Union.
He was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church in Ansonia and a member of the church Men’s Club. He was also a member of the North Ender’s Club and an avid Yankees fan.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son Joseph Degennaro & his wife Trish of Naugatuck, his daughter Sharon Levinsky & her husband Donald of Beacon Falls, his sister Lillian Norwid of Derby as well as six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, before the funeral leaves for church. (www.jenkinskingfh.com)
