Joseph “Denis” Plante, age 58, of Derby entered into rest on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband to Laura Carreau-Plante. Denis was born in Bridgeport on September 10, 1962, son of Phil Plante and Jeanne (Quirion) Plante and step-son of Sharon Plante.
Denis is the beloved brother of Diane Miller and her husband Ric, Ricky Plante, Kimberly Keefe and her husband Tim, Louis Plante and his wife Christine, Jason Plante and his wife Jennifer and Tom Caraglio . He is predeceased by his brother, Jeffrey. He is the uncle and great uncle of several nieces and nephews who love him dearly. Denis is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada who he loved very much.
Denis enjoyed fishing at home on the Housatonic River, riding quads and going to his family’s farm in New Hampshire to make maple syrup. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and taking his dog Jake for rides to get bacon.
On, Saturday, Friends are invited to go directly to St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. His burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton has been entrusted with his arrangements.
