Joseph F. Volturno, 33, of Shelton, entered into rest on December 20, 2011, at CT Hospice in Branford, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Danielle Whaley.
Joe was born in New Haven on February 3, 1978. A graduate of Emmett O’Brien Technical High School in Ansonia, he was a self-employed electrician for many years and most recently an electrician for Metro North Railroad. His greatest joy was fishing and going to amusement parks with his cherished son and daughter.
In addition to his wife Danielle, he is survived by a son, Peter J. Whaley (age 6) of Shelton, a daughter, Arianna M. Whaley (age 9) of Shelton, mother in law and father in law, Debra and Peter Whaley of Shelton, niece, Melissa Razowski, nephew, Joseph Razowski, and many friends.
Visiting hours will be held on TUESDAY December 27, 2011 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
At 11:00 am, a funeral service and celebration of Joe’s life will take place. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Cliff Cemetery in Derby. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Volturno Children’s Education Fund. Please make checks payable to Danielle Whaley and remit to the funeral home.
