Joseph F. Mondo

Joseph F. Mondo, age 85, peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 30, 2021, in the comfort of his home, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Sylvia Sally” (Keeler) Mondo, with whom he just celebrated 59 years of marriage. 

Joseph was born in Milford on February 16, 1936, son of the late Rocco and Josephine (Tranquillo) Mondo. Joe made his home in Oxford and then Ansonia for many years. He was the owner of the former Mondo Construction in Milford. He also was employed by Mesa Construction in Bethany, Carlson Industries in Milford, Haynes Materials in Seymour and M. Jacobs & Son Scrap Metals in Derby. Joe had an affinity for and loved working on Mack trucks, heavy machinery, and sprint race cars. He was the proud co-owner of B and M Racing. For many years Joe spent much of his time at dirt tracks all across the northeast, working on his car and many others. 

In addition to his wife Sally, he leaves to cherish his memory, Rosalie and David Belbusti of Ansonia, Noralie and David D’Amico of Beacon Falls, grandchildren, Joseph Belbusti and Shannon Belbusti of Ansonia, great ‑granddaughter, Kimber, brother, Rocco Mondo of FL and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Rose Lillo. 

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
