Joseph Happy, age 81 a lifelong Seymour resident entered into peaceful rest October 21, 2011 at his home; he was the beloved husband of the late Hazel M. (Schiavi) Happy.
Mr. Happy was born in Derby on January 9, 1930, son of the late Michael and Catherine (Bulack) Happy.
He was a retired Pattern Maker from the Farrel Corp., Ansonia; he also later worked with his sons at Happy Brothers Excavating for 15 years.
Joseph was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd; he enjoyed woodworking, and building furniture, gardening, working on his tractors and his lawn.
In his free-time Joseph enjoyed fishing, playing cards and trips to the casinos.
Mr. Happy leaves his loving family including two sons, Joseph Happy and his wife Patricia, and Michael Happy and his wife Lisa all of Seymour, two daughters, Pamela Gagliardi and her husband John of Seymour, and Holly Wible and her husband Scott of Austin, TX, nine grandchildren, Joseph, Jennifer Rich, Megan, Brandi, Mike, Ethan, Cody, Melyssa and Cayden; four great grandchildren, Joseph, Pepper, Dylan and Ever, and several nieces and nephews.
His brother, William Happy, and sister, Ann Minor predeceased him.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour.
Interment will be Private in Mountain Meadows Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour.
