Joseph J. Kusako

Joseph J. Kusako, 90, of Southbury, formerly of Ansonia, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on March 6, 2014, at Griffin Hospital.

Mr. Kusako was born in Ansonia on March 11, 1923, son of the late William and Ann Wasik Kucejko. At the age of 19, he entered and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Following his service to his country, he attended and graduated from the University of Bridgeport. He was employed as an auditor for Standard Oil Co. and later Mobil Oil Co. for many years until his retirement. While working, Joseph traveled extensively throughout the world and had the opportunity and enjoyed living in such places as India, Africa, Australia and Vietnam. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia.

He is survived by two beloved sisters, Jeanne Bohdan of Ansonia and Peggy Ann Kuzia of Scottsdale, AZ and several loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Stanley, Herbert, William, Edward and Frederick Kusako and sisters, Juliana Mallon, Alfreda Van Aken, Lucille Chlebowski and Frances Popp.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joseph’s Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Friday March 14, 2014, at 10:00 (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY) at St. Joseph’s Church, 32 Jewett St. in Ansonia. Inurnment with U.S. Navy military honors will follow in the family plot in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church.
