Joseph J. Macchio

Joseph J. Macchio, 65, of Seymour, peacefully entered into eternal rest on March 13, 2014, at Griffin Hospital, following a short illness.

Mr. Macchio was born in Derby on October 20, 1948, beloved son of Emilio D. Macchio of Seymour and the late Mary Falcha Macchio. A resident of Seymour for most of his life, he was employed as a school bus driver until his retirement. Joe enjoyed woodworking and spending time at his camp in New Hampshire.

In addition to his father, Emilio, he is survived by a loving brother, Ronald J. Macchio (Janice Dagostino) of Storrs, CT, a cherished nephew, Justin Macchio of Los Angeles, CA and many cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday March 17, 2014, at 11:00 am at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road in Seymour. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on Monday morning from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for church at the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
