Joseph King LeMay, 78, of Ansonia, beloved husband of Kathleen McCormack LeMay, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Griffin Hospital.
Mr. LeMay was born in Derby on March 31, 1932, son of the late Joseph and Helen King LeMay. A resident of Ansonia since 1963, he was employed as a production engineer at the Farrel Corporation in Ansonia for 35 years until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Joe was a member of the American Legion, Ancient Order of Hibernians in Derby, Farrel Old Timer’s Club, and was a communicant of the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. He enjoyed salt water and fresh water fishing, cooking, and was an avid New York Yankees, Oakland Raiders, and UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Joseph B. (Cynthia) LeMay of Shelton, Steven P. LeMay of Ansonia, and Alan M. LeMay of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 2 daughters, Denise M. (Raymond) Coogan of Hamden and Michelle M. (David) Mazzeo of Ansonia, a brother, Peter LeMay of Ansonia, 2 sisters, Annette Conlon of GA and Judith LeMay of FL, 3 grandchildren, David J. Mazzeo and Christina Mazzeo of Milford and Caitlin Coogan of Hamden, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at 8:15am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at the Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Burial with U.S. Naval honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 7 pm.
