Joseph L. Guardiano

Joseph L. Guardiano, 86, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2015, in the comfort of his home, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Joan Chiradio Guardiano.

Mr. Guardiano was born in Derby on Sept. 12, 1928, son of the late Eustachio and Angelina Lupone Guardiano. He grew up in Derby and was a resident of Ansonia for 60 years. He was employed as an inspector at Avco Lycoming in Stratford for 28 years and following his retirement worked with his son, Vin, in the real estate appraisal business. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Joe was a fan of all New York sports teams and loved horseracing.

In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by sons, Vincent J. Guardiano (Linda) of Derby and James E. Guardiano (Karen Orazietti) of Ansonia, brother, Anthony Guardiano (Carol) of Oxford, grandchildren, Joseph Guardiano, Laura Guardiano and James Guardiano, U.S.A.F., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Vincent Guardiano and sisters, Mary Palange, Helen Gannon and Loretta Belfanti.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday May 22, 2015, from 8:30 am until 10:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 10:00 am, the procession will leave for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment with U.S. Army military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
