Joseph L. Vicidomino

Joseph L. Vicidomino, age 83, of Seymour entered into rest on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Yale-New haven Hospital with his loving family by his side. 

He is the devoted husband of Barbara Carter Vicidomino. Mr. Vicidomino was born in Derby on January 3, 1930 son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Cirillo) Vicidomino and was a Derby resident until moving to Seymour 40 years ago. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran during the Korean War.

He was a DOT permit inspector for the State of Connecticut for 27 years until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Vicidomino was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed these hobbies with his son and grandsons. He was a member of the American Legion John H. Collins Post 24, the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Derby and the Great Hill Fish and Game Club in Seymour. 

Mr. Vicidomino is the loving father of Joseph Vicidomino and his wife Laurel and Margaret Vicidomino-Garofalo, step-father of Ronald Rodenhizer and his wife Melanie, Chris Petrazzuoli and her husband Vincent and Cindy Greshler and her husband Steve. He is the beloved grandfather of Joseph G. Vicidomino and his wife Elizabeth and Graig Vicidomino and great grandfather of Joseph Michael Vicidomino. 

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. On Monday, his funeral will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
