Joseph M. Salemme Sr.

Joseph M. Salemme Sr., 56, peacefully entered into eternal rest on October 2, 2015, at Vitas Hospice in St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury.

Joe was born in Derby on October 21, 1958, son of the late Michael and Barbara Manna Salemme. A lifelong resident of Seymour, he worked as a machinist at Ansonia Copper & Brass for many years. Joe was an avid fisherman and loved football.

He is survived by two loving sons, Joseph M. Salemme Jr. and Lucas J. Bowen of Seymour, a loving daughter, Ashley N. Salemme of Seymour, three brothers, Michael Salemme (Debbie) of FL, James Salemme of Seymour and Chris Salemme (Keitha) of Ansonia, brother in law, Mark Gardella of Seymour and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Theresa Gardella.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday October 8, 2015, from 5 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a memorial service in celebration of Joe’s life will take place with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Interment will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joe’s children to help with expenses through the funeral home.
