Joseph M. Bomba

Joseph M. Bomba, age 59, a lifelong resident of Derby, entered eternal rest on March 20, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Born in Derby on July 16, 1965, he was the son of Stanley E. Bomba Jr. of Derby and the late Constance A. Linane Bomba.

Joseph was employed at the former Lifetouch School Studios in Derby. He was very kind hearted, made many friends easily, and everyone knew they could count on him for anything. Joe was fierce, loyal, and very protective of his family, especially towards his three sisters.

He would go out of his way to care for them and helped them every day. His nieces and nephews meant the world to him. He lived to see them succeed and was proud of all their achievements. Kaylee (Kay) and Ryan (Ry) stole his heart and could do no wrong in his eyes. He was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics, the Boston Bruins, and the New York Jets. He will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to be part of his life.

In addition to his father Stanley, Joe leaves to cherish his memory, brothers, David M. Bomba of Wilmington, NC, and Robert A. Bomba (Rose) of Ansonia, sisters, Kathleen A. Ayers (Robert Jr.) of Derby, Colleen A. Bomba of Derby and Maureen A. Bomba of Derby, nieces and nephews, Robert Ayers III of Derby, Kaitlin Harrington (Jon) of Seymour, Amanda Ayers of Milford, Thomas Ayers of Derby, Ashley Ayers of Derby, Brandon Ayers of Derby and Samantha Bomba of Ansonia and great niece and nephew, Kaylee and Ryan Harrington.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday, March 29, 2025, by meeting directly at St. Joseph Church, 32 Jewett Street in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am. Inurnment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia has been privileged with the arrangements.
