Joseph Michael Savage, Sr.

Joseph Michael Savage, Sr., age 77, of Oxford, the beloved husband of 56 years to Ella Staff Savage, entered into rest on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Griffin Hospital, Derby, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Factoryville, PA on April 24, 1934, son of the late Michael Lee and Anna Mundrak Savage.

Joe retired in 1996 from the Kerite Co. of Seymour where had had been a Machine Operator for 41 years. 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and loved to pheasant hunt with his best four legged friends Blackie and Buddy. Joe enjoyed waterskiing and had taught children through adults how to water ski. He loved being with his family and friends and will be sadly missed by all. 

Joe’s loving family in addition to his wife Ella includes his caring sons Joseph M. Savage, Jr. of Naugatuck and David Lee Savage of Ansonia, a devoted daughter Jo Ann Brenneman (Alan) of Ansonia, his beloved brother William Savage (Shirley) of Factoryville, PA, his cherished granddaughter Jessica Lee Savage of Stamford and several loving nieces and nephews. 

A Graveside Memorial Service in Celebration of Joseph’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 (his 78th Birthday) at 1:00 pm at Brookside Cemetery, Edmonds Road, Oxford with the Rev. Dr. Bonnie Bardot, Interim Pastor of the Oxford United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. 

There will be no calling hours.
