Joseph R. Bottone

Joseph R. Bottone, an 83-year-old resident of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest Feb. 28, at Yale N.H. Hospital. 

He was born October 1, 1928 in Ansonia, son of the late Ralph & Mary Improtamanti Bottone. 

He was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption and worked as a florist for over 62 years for Eastside Greenhouses, both in Ansonia. 

Joseph was predeceased by three sisters, Katherine Fogarty, Teresa West & Lena Kiely and his brother Alfonso Bottone. 

He is survived by six nephews, Robert Fogarty of Ansonia, Edward Fogarty of Arizona, Leonard Fogarty of Southbury, Richard Kiely of Texas and James & Kevin Kiely, both of Seymour, and three nieces Margaret Fogarty of Seymour and Bernadette & Sharon Kiely, both of Texas. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday March 2 at 9:30 a.m., with friends asked to go directly to the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. 

Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. 

Friends may call on Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia.
