He graduated in 2004 from Platt Technical High School in Milford and attended New England Institute of Technology in Rhode Island. In his sophomore year of high school, he became President of the school’s newly formed Robotics team and competed for their first time in the US FIRST Robotics competition in Virginia and won Rookie of the Year for the Northeast Region.

While in high school, he was chosen to participate in the internship program at Sikorsky Aircraft where he eventually went to work in the Quality Control Lab. Also, while in high school, he was chosen by his teachers and peers to be a member of the Peer Mediation Board because of his fairness and ability to listen. Jo-Jo will forever be remembered for his love of people, his loyalty, his work ethic and sense of fairness. Family and friends were always first and foremost to him and he showed it in everything he did. His ability to make people feel better and bring humor to a situation was what his family and friends came to depend on and will miss. To many, he was their hero.
