DERBY: Josephine Ann Bunosso, age 78, entered into eternal rest on August 19, 2021, in the comfort of her own home. She was the beloved wife of the late CW03 Anthony T. Bunosso (USN).
Josephine was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on December 31, 1942, daughter of the late Andrew and Rose Vona Mastronardi. She was a longtime resident of Derby where she was involved with many town activities. Josephine was a member of the Derby Democratic Town Committee, a former staff member of the Derby Veteran’s Community Center and also served as a Justice of the Peace in Derby. She was a member of both the East End Yacht Club Women’s Auxiliary and the Miamogue Yacht Club Women’s Auxiliary, both in Bridgeport and the Elks Lodge in Derby.
Josephine leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Anthony T. Bunosso Jr. (Cheryl) of Seymour, granddaughters, Isabelle Marie Bunosso and Lily Josephine Bunosso, both of Seymour along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, James, Andrew, Joseph and Frank Mastronardi and sisters, Minnie Berent, Theresa Cowick and Mary Mastronardi.
Visitation for friends and family will take place on Tuesday August 24, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. The family requests that masks be worn in the funeral home. On Wednesday all are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am (meeting directly) at St. Mary’s Church, 212 Elizabeth Street in Derby.
