Josephine Antico, 80, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on April 24, 2013, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Roney Antico Jr.
Mrs. Antico was born in Shelton on February 11, 1933, daughter of the late Hypolit and Josephine Synos Czajkowski. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed as a supervisor at the former Lifetouch Studio’s in Derby for over 25 years until her retirement. Josephine enjoyed knitting, reading, cruises and vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She is survived by a son, Roney P. Antico and his wife Cheryl of Ansonia, three daughters, Laura Halpin and her husband Frank of Ansonia, Cynthia Zuraw and her husband Joseph of Seymour and Doreen Corrigan and her husband Peter of Derby, two sisters, Ann C. Petro of Shelton and Regina Blizman and her husband Michael of Beacon Falls, a sister in law, Linda Czajkowski of Ansonia, seven grandchildren, Nicole and Andrew Halpin, Christopher and Nicholas Zuraw, and Zachary, Lukas, and Logan Corrigan, three great-grandchildren, Jason Zuraw and Bryce and Bailey Halpin and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph H. Czajkowski.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 3 – 6 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Contributions in Josephine’s memory may be made to CT Hospice in care of the funeral home.
