Josephine Collicelli, 94, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on September 25, 2015, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Conrad Collicelli.
Mrs. Collicelli was born in Ansonia on May 14, 1921, daughter of the late Gaetano and Josephine Marchese Cinquemani. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed at Mario D’Addario Auto Dealership and Shelton Products until her retirement. Josephine was a dedicated volunteer at Griffin Hospital for many years. An avid reader, she enjoyed her weekly visits to the Ansonia Library. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to Hawaii and Canada and loved watching UConn basketball. Josephine was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia and a member of its Rosary Guild and also a member of the Ansonia and Derby Senior Centers.
She is survived by a loving and devoted son, Nicholas G. Collicelli and daughter in law, Christine Collicelli, of Ansonia, with whom she made her home, cherished grandsons, Nicholas Collicelli (Jaimie), Adam Collicelli (Victoria) and Steven Collicelli. She is also survived by grandsons, Christopher DiTuccio and Alexander Shippee, nieces, Linda Guardiano and Carol Breda and a nephew, Tom Cinquemani. She was predeceased by a brother, Rosario Cinquemani.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday September 30, 2015, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, her funeral will take place at 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter’s Mausoleum in Derby.
