Josephine G. Morris

Josephine G. Morris, age 90, entered peaceful rest on July 14, 2023, at Apple Rehab Hewitt in Shelton. She was the beloved wife of the late John E. Morris.

Josephine was born in New Haven on August 29, 1932, daughter of the late Sebastian and Frances Scaglioni Spinnato. A resident of Derby since 1959, Josephine, along with her husband John, were the co-owners of the former Seymour Carvel located in the Tri-town plaza for eighteen years, until her retirement in 1994. Josephine kept busy after retirement working as a greeter for the former Dworkin Chevrolet in Derby and was also the secretary for Tupperware home parties. She enjoyed listening to Johnny Mathis, dancing, traveling, reading, bingo and trips to the casino. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.

Josephine leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Michael J. Morris of Ansonia, a daughter, Francine G. Bacchiocchi (Kim) of Seymour and grandson, John E. Bacchiocchi (companion, Amanda Elliott) of Windsor. She was predeceased by brothers, Paul Spinnato and James Spinnato and sisters, Annette DeMennato, Alice Spinnato, and Belle Aurigemma.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday July 19, 2023, from 9:30 – 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service, in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
