Joyce Blewett, a 96 year old former Bethany, CT resident passed away December 22, 2020.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of many years John Blewett. She was born on Woodbridge on December 3, 1924.
She was daughter of Benjamin H. Root, Sr. and Estelle Blake Root. She leaves her son Dr. John Blewett of Marilyn of Texas, daughter Sherry Patchen, (Jim) of Southbury, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, her four sisters: June Hennessy, FL., Mary White, Bethany, CT., Nancy Rich, Woodbridge, CT., and Karen Rood, CO.
She was predeceased by her siblings David Root, Mariam Senderoff, Edna Fleming, Benjamin Root, Jr., Earl Root and Tom Root.
She made her home with Mary White for several years. She worked at Kmart in Ansonia, Laurel Heights for several years and was also a dispatcher for the Ansonia Police Department for almost 10 years. She was a member of several Senior Centers and loved dancing and she was a good artist.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ansonia. A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia.
